Word:
(From Reading 1 * Isaiah 58: 6-7)
Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me: to break unjust fetters, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break all yokes? Is it not sharing your food with the hungry, and sheltering the homeless poor; if you see someone lacking clothes, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own kin?
Order:
We can do things more deeply.
Reality:
In the past, when it came to fasting days, I felt so hurt because my heart wanted to eat goodies.
And I know only that fasting days are days when we refrain from craving.
Now I reallize Fasting days are of profound value because, in addition to refraining from greed, we will also be sharing what we have with others.
Direction:
Enjoy the fasting day.
